Stickers that point people to accessible features
Accessibility stickers help visitors find the parts of a building they can use: an accessible toilet, a step-free entrance, a lift, a hearing loop or a quiet space. For cafes, clinics, schools, offices and event venues, a clear sticker on the right door or panel saves someone having to ask, and it shows that access has been thought about.
Where accessibility stickers are used
- Doors and toilets – marking accessible, ambulant or all-gender facilities.
- Entrances – showing which door has a ramp or level access, and directing people to it from the main entry.
- Lifts and counters – identifying a lowered service point or the lift that reaches every floor.
- Hearing and sensory support – flagging a hearing loop, a quiet room or sensory-friendly sessions.
- Glass and partitions – visibility markings on glass doors and screens.
Check the requirements before you design
Accessible signage can be subject to building requirements covering symbols, contrast, mounting height and, in some locations, tactile or braille elements. A printed sticker is not the right answer for every one of those. Confirm what your building needs with your access consultant or building surveyor, then send us the specified symbol, size and wording. Getting the specification settled at the start avoids reprinting later.
Designing for readability
Strong contrast between the symbol and its background matters more than decoration. Keep wording short, use a plain typeface, and size the symbol so it can be recognised from where people will actually stand. If you want a matching set across a venue, free design support can lay out every sticker in the same style. For markings on the ground you may prefer vinyl floor stickers, and cautionary notices belong with warning stickers.
Requesting a quote
Use the custom quotation form to list each design, its size, the surface it goes on and how many you need. Let us know whether the sticker stays indoors or faces the weather, and a material will be recommended with your quote. There are no die or plate charges, shipping is free, and a PDF proof is emailed for your approval before printing starts.
Questions
Accessibility Stickers FAQs
Do accessibility stickers meet building access requirements?
Compliance depends on the design, size, contrast, placement and whether your site needs tactile or braille signage, which a printed sticker may not provide. Check the requirements with your access consultant or building surveyor first. Then give us the specified symbols, sizes and wording in your quote request, and we print exactly the design you approve.
Where do businesses put accessibility stickers?
Typical spots are accessible toilet doors, step-free entrances and ramps, lift call panels, lowered service counters, hearing loop notices and quiet rooms. Glass doors and partitions also get visibility markings so people notice them. For markings on the ground, such as a path to an accessible entry, floor stickers may be the better category.
What should an accessibility sticker quote request include?
List each symbol and its wording, the finished size, the surface it goes on (painted door, glass, metal or laminate), whether it is indoors or exposed to weather, and how many you need of each. If your consultant has supplied a specification or drawing, attach it so the artwork follows it.
